This Privacy Policy explains how MirroBot ("the Bot", "we", "us") handles data when it is installed in or used from a Discord server. The Bot translates messages between channels configured as a Language Bridge.
1. Data Controller and Contact
The Data Controller is the operator of MirroBot. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].
2. Data We Process
Discord data used to operate the Bot
The Bot receives data made available through the Discord API and processes the following data when needed to provide its features:
- Message content, including text extracted from message embeds, polls, forwarded-message snapshots, and reply previews.
- Recent message context, including authors' display names and message content. This helps the translation provider interpret conversational context and replies.
- Discord identifiers and configuration: server (guild), channel, message, webhook, SKU, and entitlement identifiers; configured language, tone, dialect, and Language Bridge names.
- Author and mention data: display names, Discord user IDs for operational logging, mentioned users' IDs and display names, and avatar URLs when the Bot sends a translated message through a webhook using the original author's name and avatar.
- Attachments and media links: attachment URLs are reproduced in mirrored messages. Audio attachments may be downloaded temporarily to forward them. The optional image-translation feature downloads selected images or image URLs for processing.
- Premium and usage data: entitlement SKU, entitlement end date, per-server translation counts, and per-server daily token and cost totals returned by OpenRouter.
The Bot keeps a limited in-memory cache of Discord data while it is running.
Data stored by the Bot
The Bot stores the following data to operate its service:
- Language Bridge configuration, including server and channel IDs and language settings.
- Records linking original and mirrored messages, including the identifiers and credentials needed to synchronize edits and deletions.
- Premium entitlement, quota, and aggregated usage data for each server.
- Data needed to prevent duplicate quota notifications.
